ABOUT
Rabosi Design (est. 2007)
is beautifully crafted stylish women's fashion with a hint of fun. Designed and made at my home studio Dunback (Otago) New Zealand, I draw my inspiration from the beautiful South Island of New Zealand and a love of vibrant colour.
I use natural fibres (linen and cotton) sourced mostly from Japan and Europe. I strive to design timeless, well made garments from quality fabrics that can be worn through all four seasons of the year, dressed up or down becoming that much loved wardrobe favourite for many years.
Each garment I make is created uniquely using high quality fabrics either, printed or creating my own designs on linen using a variety of embroidery techniques.
I work hard to minimize waste within my studio and committed to ethical sustainable fashion, and circular production practices.
My range includes skirts, pants, pinafores, tunic tops, dresses and scarves.
When I first started this journey in my late teens my passion was (and still is) textile design. For many years I. hand painted silk scarves, linen and cotton clothing which I sold at various markets around Northern New South Wales and Queensland. Now that we have moved onto acreage again in New Zealand I will be expanding on this theme and planting a garden with specific plants for naturally dying fabrics. I'll upload some photos once we get started.
My other passion is is using natural fibres and offcuts for embroidery and artwork that I add to my garments which makes them the unique one of a kind peices that they are. I use lats of different fibres for these such as organically dyed silk thread, reclaimed torn sari silk fabric to name a few.
